Tier List

Aniimo Tier Lists

Separate ranks for story/PvE, Diamond Egg Heist PvP, and traversal — because a great flyer is not always a great boss killer.

Aniimo Creature Tier List Hub

A single S-to-C list cannot describe Aniimo. The same creature can be a star in open-world traversal and a passenger in a Break check. This hub splits the rankings into three lists that match how Pathfinders actually play:

All three are closed-beta snapshots. Pawprint has said launch will include more than 200 Aniimo, while the official index during Global CBT sat around 94 named lines. Ranks will move. Use them to learn roles and elements, not to treat one YouTube thumbnail as law.

How we rank

We weight four things, in order:

  1. Role identity — DPS, Break, Heal, Support, Regen. A Heal that cannot keep a Breaker alive in Alpha fights is not S-tier just because it is cute.
  2. Element coverage — the nine elements (Ice, Light, Fire, Dark, Lightning, Wind, Earth, Water, Grass) are not a Pokémon clone. Read the type chart before you copy a mono-Fire team.
  3. Twine kit — some value is only real while inhabited. Somniwing’s flying Twine is an exploration S even if its damage is average.
  4. Availability in tests — a creature that barely appeared in CBT is listed as provisional. We would rather under-rank than invent a god tier.

Helion and Lunara sit outside normal catch math because they are story companions. Their combat value is real, especially early, but they are not “free S-tier forever.” Compare them on starters.

Snapshot: names testers kept on the field

These names showed up again and again in CBT parties. They are a starting shortlist, not a finished meta:

RoleFrequently keptWhy testers kept them
DPSEmberpup line (Scorchhowl), Stellarys, Thornblade, BlazenClear damage identity and readable skills while Twined
BreakInferlupa, Tuckin, HumminBreak bar progress is the gate for many elites
HealSkippy → GlacyTeam-wide sustain while you learn dodge windows
Support / RegenNimbi → Turbo, Witchin, LeafyEnergy and utility when rotations get longer
TraverseSomniwing, Eko, water lines (Skippy family)Fly, sound-detect, swim — the open world asks for all three

Full commentary lives on the PvE and exploration pages. PvP is thinner because Diamond Egg Heist was only a slice of Global CBT — we still publish a PvP list so you have a plan, with bigger uncertainty flags.

Build a team, do not collect trophies

You bring four Aniimo into a fight and choose among five roles. The composition that survived tanky Alpha tests was usually Breaker + DPS + Heal + (Support or Regen). Stacking four DPS feels fast until the Break bar never opens. Use the team builder to lock that spine before you spend evolution materials.

Element planning matters as much as roles. Dark looks greedy on offense (Light, Fire, Grass) but Earth and Water punish it. Grass beating Earth and Water is why a Thornblade slot appears in so many overworld teams. None of that replaces learning combat and Twine.

What will change at launch

Expect new Nova-stage options, weather forms, and Sparkling variants. The Gamescom roster claim of 200+ creatures means entire lines on this hub might be mid-tier the week after 16 September. We will reshuffle the three child lists independently so an exploration buff does not accidentally promote a PvP pick.

If you are still choosing a first companion, read Helion vs Lunara and the creature index. For catch order, how to catch plus this hub is enough. Keep codes bookmarked for launch gifts that might include extra pods — they will not include a secret S-tier creature code.

  • Elements — what each of the nine types is for.
  • Evolutions — Lumin, Gamma, Nova, and why you should not evolve the first extra of a line.
  • Updates — patch context if a rank suddenly looks wrong.
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers Pathfinders search for before launch.

Is there one official Aniimo tier list?

No. Pawprint does not publish PvE/PvP ranks. This hub is a fan snapshot from closed beta, split into PvE, PvP, and exploration.

Why is my favourite Aniimo not S-tier?

Cute and viable are different. We rank field roles, elements, and Twine kits. A beloved Support can still be A-tier if Heal or Break does more in Alphas.

Should I evolve everything I catch?

No. Keep a Lumin extra for forms and trades. See evolutions before you spend crystals on a duplicate DPS.

Will launch change these ranks?

Yes. The live roster is advertised as 200+ creatures. Recheck this hub after the 16 September 2026 PC and console launch.
