Aniimo Type Chart

Nine elements, real-time counters, and the CBT matchups testers actually used — not a pasted Pokémon grid.

Aniimo Nine-Element Type Chart

Aniimo combat is real-time, but the planning is a chart. Every wild and story creature carries one or two of nine elements: Ice, Light, Fire, Dark, Lightning, Wind, Earth, Water, Grass. A super-effective hit in closed-beta Courses was taught as extra damage to both HP and Break. That is why a wrong Emberpup into a Water Alpha feels unfair, and why a correct Grass Break into Earth feels like the game finally opened.

This page is a Global CBT snapshot. Pawprint can retune multipliers, add a tenth element, or change dual-type math at launch. Use it with elements for flavour and roster, combat for dodges and swaps, and the team builder so the chart becomes four slots instead of trivia.

Do not import Pokémon memory. Light is not Fairy. Lightning is not Light. Earth is the rock-and-ground bucket. Several types also punish themselves (Fire, Wind, Water, Grass showed up as self-weak in tester breakdowns).

Known super-effective attacks (CBT)

Creator breakdowns that walk the in-game Courses (May 2026) plus tester notes agree on this offensive list. If a launch patch disagrees, believe the client.

AttackerHits hard againstQuick reminder
IceLightning, WaterCold shuts storms and tides; it is not a universal tank
LightDark, EarthHoly pressure into shadows and stone
FireIce, GrassThe Emberpup lesson — and the trap if you stop there
DarkLight, Fire, GrassGreedy offence (three targets); greedy defence too
LightningWind, WaterDo not confuse it with Light
WindDark, GrassFlyers that also pick on plants and hexes
EarthIce, LightningGround the storm; watch the tide
WaterFire, EarthThe reason four-Fire parties fail
GrassEarth, WaterThornblade’s overworld job

Known holes (what hits you harder)

Same CBT sources, flipped. Dual-types inherit both problems.

Ice is the row with the noisiest secondary wikis (some older tables also give Ice a self-hit). Until launch UI prints icons on every skill, treat Ice as strong into Lightning/Water and uncomfortable into Water/Grass, not as a complete 9×9 solved puzzle.

Compact matchup table

Key: SE = this attacker hits that defender hard (from the CBT offensive list above). = not called out as super-effective in those notes — play it neutral until the live client prints an icon. Defensive holes and self-weaks stay in the second table; this grid does not try to fake a finished 9×9.

Read rows when you pick a skill element. Read the holes table when you Twine a body that has to sit there and eat hits. A Dark mage that looks godly on the PvE tier list still folds when Earth or Water is the room colour.

Dual-types and Break

Global CBT names already double-dip:

  • Inferlupa — Fire / Dark Break. Hits Ice, Grass, Light — and still hates Water and Earth.
  • Glacy — Water Heal with Ice in community typing. Into Fire and Earth it is a blessing; into Lightning it is a question.
  • Somniwing — Wind / Grass exploration star. Great into Dark; Fire still cooks the Grass half.
  • Witchin — Grass / Dark in some dumps, Dark Regen in others. Check the live Aniilog, then assume Dark’s Water/Earth problem until proven otherwise.

Courses taught spatial counters as well as elemental ones. A SE hit that also Breaks is how Alphas stop being sponges. If a bar will not move, swap to the SE element and a Break role, not to a bigger DPS of the same type. That pairing is the whole point of the team builder.

How to use the chart in a real session

  1. Identify the enemy element from the nameplate or Aniilog, not from vibes. Lightning orbs are not Light halos.
  2. Put the SE attacker in slot 1 or 2 and Twine it for the opener if the Break bar is the gate.
  3. Keep a Heal that is not also SE-weak to the room. A Dark team that brings only Dark bodies into a Water biome is a wipe video.
  4. For overworld routing, Grass into Earth/Water and Fire into Ice/Grass cover a stupid amount of Idyll — which is why people then walk into a Water Alpha with four Fire portraits.
  5. Recheck elements when a new dual-type lands after 16 September.

PvE examples live on the PvE tier list. The chart does not rank cute. It ranks whether your Q skill is the right colour.

Launch can still redraw every cell. If the in-game type UI and this table disagree, screenshot the UI and ignore the wiki cell. We would rather print a dated CBT chart with holes than a pretty 9×9 of invented numbers. Bring the table into the team builder, pick one SE attacker you actually own, and let combat teach the dodge that the chart cannot.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers Pathfinders search for before launch.

How many elements does Aniimo have?

Nine in closed beta: Ice, Light, Fire, Dark, Lightning, Wind, Earth, Water, and Grass. Some Aniimo are dual-type. See elements.

Is this the same as the Pokémon type chart?

No. Light is not Fairy, Lightning is not Light, and several types are weak to themselves. Use this page, not a Pokémon overlay.

Do type counters affect Break?

New Player Courses in Global CBT taught elemental counters as hitting both HP and Break. That is why the wrong type feels like a sponge fight.

Will launch change these matchups?

It can. This table is a CBT snapshot with explicit unknowns. Believe the live client if icons disagree.

How should I build around the chart?

One SE attacker, a Break, a Heal that is not also weak to the room, and a flex. Walk through the team builder and combat.
