Aniimo Team Builder

Four field slots, five roles, and sample parties that survived Alphas — plus the Fire pile that did not.

Aniimo Four-Slot Team Builder

You bring four Aniimo into a fight and the game offers five roles: DPS, Break, Heal, Support, Regen. That missing fifth role is the whole puzzle. Testers who treated the Aniilog like a trophy shelf fielded four DPS portraits and then wondered why an Alpha’s Break bar never opened. Testers who treated it like a photography sim were fine in meadows and lost in caves.

The spine this wiki defaults to is Break + DPS + Heal + flex. Flex is Support or Regen for long fights, or an exploration specialist when the check is a cliff, a lake, or a sound cue. Lock the spine in this builder before you spend Dew Drop crystals. Rankings that assume the spine live on the PvE tier list. Matchups live on the type chart. Combat feel lives in the combat guide.

Closed-beta names below are a July 2026 snapshot. Launch marketing promises 200+ creatures; the official CBT index sat near 94. Swap the name, keep the role.

The four slots

SlotRoleJobCBT names people actually kept
1BreakOpen the bar so DPS is not punching a spongeInferlupa, Tuckin, Hummin
2DPSConvert an open bar into a dead AlphaEmberpup line (Scorchhowl), Stellarys, Thornblade, Blazen
3HealKeep Break and DPS alive through dodge mistakesSkippy → Pranky → Glacy
4FlexSupport energy, Regen padding, or a Twine kitNimbi → Turbo, Witchin, Leafy, Somniwing, Eko

You can run two DPS and skip Support. You should not skip both Break and Heal. Story companions Helion and Lunara sit in early slots as teachers; they are not a reason to bench Glacy forever. Compare them on starters before you mash confirm.

Role cheat sheet

  • DPS — damage identity while Twined. Emberpup is the tutorial gift. It becomes a problem only when slots 1–4 are all Fire. Read elements before you evolve a second Fire DPS.
  • Break — the gate. Inferlupa (Fire/Dark) and Tuckin (Grass) showed up because Alphas ignore raw DPS until the bar cracks. Elemental SE hits also feed Break; that is a type chart rule, not a vibe.
  • Heal — party sustain. Skippy’s water line is the usual “I walked into a river biome and got saved” story. Put it on the field before the named hunt.
  • Support — energy, buffs, tempo. Nimbi → Turbo is the Wind example testers kept when rotations got long.
  • Regen — slower, greener sustain (Leafy, Witchin in dumps). Use it when Heal is covering burst and the fight is a marathon.

Twine kits are a sixth axis. Somniwing’s flying body can be an S-tier explorer and an A-tier fighter. Do not delete slot 1 Break to keep a flyer if you are walking into an Institute check. Take the flyer as flex, or swap after the fight.

Sample team 1 — early Fire / Water / Break

The first-hour party almost builds itself if you do not fight it.

SlotPickWhy
BreakTuckin (or Hummin if you have not evolved)Grass Break that also SE-hits Earth and Water rooms
DPSEmberpup → Flameruff → ScorchhowlTutorial Fire DPS; keep one line
HealSkippy → GlacyWater Heal; Glacy also pressures Fire/Earth
FlexNimbi (Support) or Leafy (Regen)Energy or extra sustain while you learn dodges

This covers Fire’s Ice/Grass targets and Water’s Fire/Earth targets. It still hates a dedicated Water wall if you Twine only Scorchhowl — swap to Tuckin or Glacy for the opener. Inferlupa can replace Tuckin once you have the Fire/Dark Break offshoot; remember Inferlupa still fears Water and Earth.

Do not add Flamerion, Sparki, or a second Scorchhowl “for coverage.” Coverage is the Heal and the Grass Break, not more orange.

Sample team 2 — Dark mage

Dark’s offence is greedy (Light, Fire, Grass). Dark’s defence is also greedy (Earth and Water punish it).

SlotPickWhy
BreakTuckin or HumminGrass Break that is not another Dark body
DPSCelestis → StellarysThe poster Dark mage
HealGracewing (Wind) or Glacy if you accept Water on your sideSustain that is not also Dark-weak to the same rooms
FlexWitchin (Regen) or Turbo (Support)Padding or energy; Witchin is Dark-adjacent so watch Earth

Helmut → Pawney → Rookey can stand in as a bulkier Dark if Stellarys is not in the box yet. The mistake is four Dark portraits into a shoreline Alpha. Keep one off-element Break. If the PvE list still loves Stellarys next month, it will still love Stellarys with a Heal.

Sample team 3 — exploration flex

Open Idyll asks for movement the combat chart does not score.

SlotPickTwine job
Traverse / flexSomniwingFly, film, skip cliffs
Detect / flexEkoSound cues; added after testers asked for it
Swim / HealSkippy lineWater Heal and a swimming body
Combat spineScorchhowl or TuckinOne real fighter so a random Alpha is not a loading screen

When a fight starts, you still want Break or DPS on the field. Park Somniwing in slot 4, not slot 1, unless the “fight” is a height check. After the Institute, swap Eko out for Turbo or Glacy. Exploration teams are allowed to be greedy about movement; they are not allowed to be Heal-less in a named arena.

Helion or Lunara can occupy an early slot in any of these three samples. They teach Twine. They do not delete the need for Glacy. Read starters and then come back.

Builder rules that survived every test

  1. Four slots, five roles. Name the role you are dropping out loud. If you cannot, you are dropping Heal by accident.
  2. One SE colour per room from the type chart, not four of the same portrait.
  3. Evolve extras after you own a spare. Pebbling’s branch is the warning poster; elements lists dual-types that change the colour of a slot.
  4. Courses first. The builder is useless if you never learned catch stance or Break. That is a combat problem.
  5. Ranks last. Use PvE to choose among two Breakers you already caught, not to ignore a Heal you have in the box.

PvP (Diamond Egg Heist) is a different builder: three-player teams, objectives, and greed. Do not copy a Heist clip into an Alpha and do not copy this PvE spine into Heist without looking at the PvP list.

If your current box is Emberpup, Emberpup, Emberpup, and a screenshot of Stellarys, you do not have a team. You have a colour. Catch Skippy, keep a Grass Break, and leave the fourth slot empty until a Support or a flyer earns it. The builder is a filter, not a Pokédex. Launch will add names. It will not add a fifth field slot.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers Pathfinders search for before launch.

How many Aniimo can I field?

Four. There are five roles (DPS, Break, Heal, Support, Regen), so one role always sits on the bench. Default spine: Break + DPS + Heal + flex.

What should a beginner team look like?

Emberpup-line DPS, Skippy-line Heal, a Grass Break such as Tuckin, and Nimbi or Leafy in flex. See sample team 1 on this page.

Can Helion or Lunara replace a Heal?

They teach Twine and fill an early slot. They are not a reason to skip Glacy. Compare them on starters.

Should exploration Aniimo go in slot 1?

Only for traversal checks. Somniwing and Eko belong in flex for fights. Keep Break or DPS on the field when an Alpha aggroes.

Where do I check types and ranks after I pick roles?

Matchups on the type chart, names on elements, ranks on the PvE tier list, feel in combat.
